Preliminary Procedures
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LS7 or LS9) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LS3) .
- If equipped with a manual transmission, remove the bell housing cover. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement (LS3/LS7)

Starter Procedure
- Disconnect the S terminal harness connector from the starter.
- Orient the B+ terminal Harness anti rotation tab to the starter orientation slot.
- Remove the B+ terminal harness from the starter.
