Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
  2. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 16 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test or replace the Brake Pressure Modulator.
  4. Ignition OFF, remove the EBCM from the Brake Pressure Modulator.
  5. Inspect the EBCM to Brake Pressure Modulator connector for no damage, corrosion, or presence of brake fluid.
    • If connector corrosion or damage is evident, replace Brake Pressure Modulator and/or EBCM as necessary.
    • If brake fluid is present, replace both Brake Pressure Modulator and EBCM.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the Brake Pressure Modulator.
