Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable (1). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement .
  5. Remove the left front floor panel carpet. Refer to Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement (LHD) .
  6. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet replacement. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement (Sedan) .

  9. Remove the retaining nut (1) from the battery positive cable extension stud (3) inside the vehicle at the dash panel. Disconnect the battery positive rear cable (2) from the retainer tabs (4).

    NOTE:

    Note the routing of the battery positive cable for installation of the service assembly.

  11. Disengage the battery positive cable (1), from the retainers in the passenger compartment area.

  13. Working into the rear passenger seat area, disengage the battery positive cable (2) from the retainers (1).

  15. Remove the nut (1) securing the body harness terminal (2) to the battery positive cable.

  17. Disconnect the battery positive cable connector (1) from the body harness.
  18. Loosen the battery positive clamp nut (2) at the battery positive post.
  19. Remove the battery positive cable.
