Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Ensure a new rubber O-ring and seal is used when installing the water outlet housing.

  1. Install the water outlet housing (2) to the cylinder head.
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the water outlet housing (2) to the cylinder heads using the water outlet housing retaining bolts (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Attach the coolant air bleed hose. Refer to Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (V6) , Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (V8) .
  4. Attach the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the housing. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  5. Attach the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LFX) .
  6. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  8. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  10. Inspect cooling system for leaks.
