Removal Procedure

  1. Place the front side door window in the full down position.

    CAUTION:

    When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.

  3. Apply several layers of masking tape (2) to the bottom and inner edge of the outside rearview mirror housing (3) in order to protect the painted finish.
  4. Push the mirror glass (1) inward at the top outer corner until full travel is reached.

    NOTE:

    DO Not use the suitable tool (flat plastic) to pry with. It Must be used in a twisting motion only to release the mirror glass from the motor.

  6. Remove the mirror glass do the following:
    1. Retain pressure on the top outer corner of the mirror glass (4).
    2. Insert a flat plastic suitable tool (1) between the two tabs (2) located behind the glass.
    3. Twist the flat plastic suitable tool (1) between the tabs (2) until the mirror glass releases from the motor.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  8. Remove the mirror glass.
