Removal Procedure

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. NOTE: Do not remove the spare wheel hoist.
  3. Remove the spare tire and wheel assembly, if necessary. Refer to Spare Wheel Hoist Replacement .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  6. Loosen, but do not remove, the trailer brake control module bracket bolts (1).
  7. Disconnect the trailer brake control module and relay electrical connectors.

  9. Slide the trailer brake control module and bracket assembly (1) toward the right side of the vehicle.
  10. Remove the trailer brake control module and bracket assembly

  12. Loosen, but do not remove, the 3 trailer brake control module bolts (1).

  14. Slide the trailer brake control module (1) to remove the module from the bracket.
