Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering pump (2) into the power steering pump housing.
    2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  2. Install the power steering pump bolts and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Compress the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose clamp (1).
  4. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (2) to the power steering pump and release the clamp.

  5. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose (1) to the power steering pump and tighten to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
  6. Install the left side valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left Side (LSA/LS9) .
  7. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
