Installation Procedure

NOTE:

The steering wheel and steering column shaft splines must be installed in the position recorded during removal and aligned with the marks previously made.

Install the steering wheel (4) to the steering column shaft (3).

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the NEW steering wheel to steering column shaft retaining bolt (1).
Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).
Connect the steering wheel electrical connector (2).
Install the steering wheel inflatable restraint module to the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement .
Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
