Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Do not use excessive force to mount the steering column lower trim cover (3) to the mounting tabs (1).

    NOTE:

    Lift the column lower trim cover and press towards the front of the vehicle in order to engage the mounting tabs (1).

  1. Install the steering column lower trim cover (3).
  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the steering column lower trim cover to steering column assembly retaining screw (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

    NOTE:

    Do not use excessive force to secure the steering column upper trim cover (1).

    NOTE:

    Lower the steering column upper trim cover (1) and push towards the front of the vehicle in order to engage the rear locking tabs (3).

  5. Install the steering column upper trim cover (1).
  6. NOTE:

    Press down on the steering column upper trim cover front face in order to clip the front locking tabs (4) to the steering column lower trim cover (2).

  7. Clip the face of the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the steering column lower trim cover (2).
  8. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  9. Set the steering wheel and column assembly to the original position and lock the steering column tilt lever.
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
