Vehicle Key Relearn

NOTE:
This procedure will only relearn the vehicle keys. This procedure will not learn the immobilizer pre-release password or the challenge/response data. Do not use this procedure as a substitute for a relearn when replacing or reprogramming a body control module (BCM) or engine control module (ECM). Doing so will result in a module that will not learn the pre-release password and/or the challenge/response data.
This procedure should be used when all vehicle keys are to be replaced or reprogrammed. The procedure will erase all previously learned vehicle keys from the BCM. Once the relearn procedure has been completed, any remaining vehicle keys may be programmed using the Adding Keys procedure to ensure their continued functionality.
- With a scan tool, access Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
- On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select IMMO Immobilizer Learn - Setup.
- On the Validate/Select Vehicle Data screen, select Program Transponder or Remote Key (Add) and follow the on-screen instructions.
- With a scan tool, clear any DTCs.
- If additional keys are required to be learned, refer to Adding Keys (North America, except Canada) or Adding Keys (Canada) .
