Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement

Preliminary Procedure: 
Open and support the hood in order to access the wiper arm assembly.
1 Windshield Wiper Arm Nut Cap
Tip:  Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to release the cap from the wiper arm.
2 Windshield Wiper Arm Nut
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  29 N.m (21 lb ft)

3 Windshield Wiper Arm

Procedure

  1. Grasp the outer end of the wiper arm and rock the arm back and forth while holding the wiper blade off the windshield.
  2. Lift the arm assembly from the wiper motor pivot shaft.
  3. Clean the knurls on the wiper motor pivot shaft with a soft wire brush.
  4. Align the wiper blade tip to the small clear circle in the lower windshield blackout and hold into position while torquing the nut.
  5. Electrically cycle the wiper arms and re-check the blade alignment to the lower windshield alignment circles.
