Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Mass Sensor Replacement

WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .
WARNING: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to. SIR Disabling and Enabling 
  2. Remove the front seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to. Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement
  3. When working with the passenger seat re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References .
1 Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Retainer (Qty: 2)
Tip:  Use a flat bladed tool to release retainers from the seat frame.
2 Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  2. Remove the passenger presence system.
  3. Program the inflatable restraint passenger presence system after replacement. Refer to Control Module References .
