Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the following circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Reference voltage circuit terminal 5
- Low Reference circuit terminal 40
- CAN Bus High Serial Data circuit terminal 18
- CAN Bus Low Serial Data circuit terminal 19
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Reference voltage circuit terminal 5
- Low Reference circuit terminal 40
- CAN Bus High Serial Data circuit terminal 18
- CAN Bus Low Serial Data circuit terminal 19
- If less than the specified value, test the appropriate circuit for a short to ground.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Steering Angle Sensor.
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the following circuit terminals listed below.
- Reference voltage circuit terminal 5 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal 1 at the steering angle sensor harness connector.
- Low Reference circuit terminal 40 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal 6 at the steering angle sensor harness connector
- CAN Bus High Serial Data circuit terminal 18 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal 3 at the steering angle sensor harness connector.
- CAN Bus Low Serial Data circuit terminal 19 at the EBCM harness connector and terminal 4 at the steering angle sensor harness connector.
- If greater than the specified value, test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the Steering Angle Sensor. If the DTC resets replace the EBCM.
