Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X280 harness connector at the steering column telescope motor assembly.
  2. Verify that the appropriate control circuit terminals listed below are in the correct harness connector cavities:
    • Motor in control terminal A
    • Motor out control terminal B
    • Steering column telescope position sensor 5 V reference terminal D
    • Steering column telescope position sensor low reference terminal E
    • If the wires are not in the correct cavities, make the appropriate changes.
  3. If all circuits test normal, replace the MSM.
