Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Saturn Outlook, 2010 GMC Acadia, 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2010 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

Inspect the complete steering column wiring harness for chafing as the harness routes along and below the steering column. The wires in the steering column harness may be chafed or cut on the tilt telescope mechanism edges.

  1. Verify that DTC C0710 is not set.
  2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the yaw rate/lat sensor.
  3. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down. Test for less than 10 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the ignition voltage circuit terminal 4 and ground.
    • If not within the specified range, test the ignition voltage circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance.
  5. If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
