Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connectors at the accessory AC/DC power control module.
- Ignition OFF and the scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 1 X2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 2 X2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Test for less than 1.0 volt between the accessory AC/DC power control module circuit terminal listed below and ground:
- The accessory AC/DC power control module terminal 2 X1.
- The accessory AC/DC power control module terminal 4 X1.
- The accessory AC/DC power control module terminal 6 X1.
- If greater than the specified value, test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the accessory power outlet.
- Test for infinite resistance between the accessory AC/DC power control module circuit terminal listed below and ground:
- The accessory AC/DC power control module terminal 4 X1.
- The accessory AC/DC power control module terminal 6 X1.
- If less than the specified value, test the appropriate circuit for a short to ground.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 ohms between the accessory power outlet line circuit terminal and the accessory AC/DC power control module terminal listed below:
- The line hot circuit terminal 3 and the accessory AC/DC power control module terminal 4 X1.
- The line neutral circuit terminal 6 and the accessory AC/DC power control module terminal 6 X1.
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate line circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the accessory power outlet.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the accessory power outlet.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition voltage circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Connect the harness connector at the accessory power outlet, and connect an AC-powered device to the accessory power outlet.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the accessory AC/DC power control module signal circuit terminal 2 X1 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the accessory power outlet.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the accessory AC/DC power control module.
