Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick Lucerne. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Seat position sensor
- SDM
- Seat position sensor wiring harness connector
- SDM wiring harness connector
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the right seat position sensor.
- Inspect the component and harness connector for damage or corrosion.
- If damage or corrosion is found, repair or replace as necessary.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 ohms between low reference terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDM.
- Ignition ON, test for ignition voltage between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If less that the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the seat position sensor.
IMPORTANT:
When removing connectors, inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector:
