Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate wheel speed sensor.
  2. Test for 850-1350 ohms of resistance between terminal A and terminal B of the wheel speed sensor.
    • If not within the specified range, replace the wheel speed sensor.
  3. Test for greater than 100 mV AC voltage between terminal A and terminal B of the wheel speed sensor, when spinning the wheel.
    • If less than the specified range, replace the appropriate wheel speed sensor.
  4. Disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
  5. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  6. Test for infinite resistance between the low reference circuit terminal B and ground.
    • If not the specified value, test the low reference circuit for a short to ground.
  7. Test for less than 1 ohm between the signal circuit terminal A at the wheel speed connector and the appropriate terminal 13, 27, 39, or 42 at the EBCM connector.
    • If not within the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open or a high resistance.
  8. Test for less than 1 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal B at the wheel speed sensor connector and the appropriate terminal 12, 24, 28, or 43 at the EBCM connector.
    • If not within the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open or a high resistance.
  9. If all circuits test normal, replace the ECBM.
