Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the exhaust tail pipe flow control valve solenoid connector.
- Ignition ON, measure for 0 volts between the exhaust tail pipe flow control valve solenoid supply voltage circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If over 0 volts, test the supply voltage circuit terminal 2 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the exhaust tail pipe flow valve control module.
- Ignition ON, use scan tool to command exhaust flow control relay ON, measure for greater than 10 volts between the supply voltage circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the supply voltage circuit terminal 2 for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the exhaust tail pipe flow valve control module.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the exhaust tail pipe flow valve solenoid.
