Installation Procedure

  1. Install the positive battery cable (4) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the positive battery cable clips (2 and 3) to the fan shroud.
  3. Install the positive battery cable to the UBEC.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Install the positive battery cable to UBEC nut (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the UBEC cover.

  6. Install the positive battery cable (1) to the generator.
  7. Install the generator nut (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  8. Position the positive battery cable boot (2) at the generator.
  9. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

  10. Install the positive battery cable to the starter.
  11. Install the starter solenoid nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Install the positive battery cable clip (5) to the battery tray.
  14. Position the positive battery cable to the battery and tighten the positive battery cable (1) bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (12 lb ft).

  15. Connect the negative battery cable (4). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  16. Position and install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
