Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (RPO LS4) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (RPOs LZE/LZ4/LZ9) .
    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  4. Remove the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  5. Remove the tilt lever.

  6. Remove the 2 retaining screws from the lower steering column trim cover.

  7. Separate the upper steering column cover from the lower steering column cover and remove them from the steering column.
