Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. On automatic transmission equipped vehicles, it may be necessary to lower the rear suspension crossmember to provide clearance for removal of the exhaust muffler.
  3. Remove the intermediate pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement (6.0L)  or Intermediate Pipe Replacement (7.0L) .
  4. On the 7.0L engines, disconnect the vacuum line from the muffler assembly.
  5. Remove the left muffler from the hangers (3).
  6. Remove the left muffler (1).
