Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac-N-Fill) in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  4. Remove the defroster duct. Refer to Defroster Duct Replacement - Windshield .
  5. Remove the air outlet ducts. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Air Outlet Ducts Replacement .
  6. Remove the air distributor duct. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement .

  7. Disconnect the electrical connections for the blower motor (1) and the actuators (2).
  8. Remove the HVAC module nuts and bolts from the mounting points.
  9. Remove the HVAC module assembly (4) from the I/P retainer.
