Fastener Tightening Specifications:
Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Remove the front brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement (J56) or Front Brake Caliper Replacement (JL9-J55) .

Retainer Tip:
Once the retainer as been removed, it is not necessary to replace the retainer. |

Rotor Tip:
- After the brake caliper has been removed, relocate the brake caliper to the side and support with mechanics wire or equivalent. DO NOT let the brake caliper hang by the brake hose.
- If the brake rotor is being removed to service the brake system, mark the relationship of the rotor to the wheel stud.
- Using the J 42450-A
and the J 41013
clean the wheel studs and mounting surface of the brake rotor and wheel hub. See Special Tools .
