Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the sunroof molding, if equipped.
  3. Remove the passenger assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  4. Remove the plastic retaining clips in the headliner on the driver's side.
  5. Remove the sun visors. Refer to Sunshade Replacement  in Roof.
  6. Remove the power sunroof control switch, if equipped. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement in Roof.
  7. Remove the windshield pillar. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar .
  8. Remove the upper center pillar. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar .
  9. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Sedan)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Wagon) .

  10. Remove the plastic retainers in the headliner using the J 21104-B  . See Special Tools .
  11. Recline both front seats.
  12. Remove the headliner.
