Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the center molding assembly. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center (Four Door) or Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center (Five Door/Wagon) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Pull out the unit to gain access to the rear.

  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the center molding assembly from the instrument panel.

  8. Remove the control assembly retaining screws.
  9. Remove the automatic temperature control assembly.
