Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator. Refer to GENERATOR REPLACEMENT (L61)  or GENERATOR REPLACEMENT (LX9) .
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the generator bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  4. Connect the generator electrical connectors.

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator terminal nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT .
  6. Install the oil level indicator tube bolt. Refer to OIL LEVEL INDICATOR AND TUBE REPLACEMENT .
  7. Install the air cleaner resonator. Refer to AIR CLEANER OUTLET RESONATOR REPLACEMENT .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
