Installation Procedure

  1. Set the generator into position on the engine.
  2. Install the generator front bolt.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Install the generator rear stud and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt/stud to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  6. Install the starter cable to the generator.
  7. Install the generator terminal nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  8. Position the starter cable boot.

  10. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the generator.

  12. Install the generator brace.
  13. Install the generator brace bolt and nut.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
    • Tighten the nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  14. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  15. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  16. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
