Enabling Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6, 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and 2006 Buick Terraza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the key from the ignition.

  3. Connect the steering wheel module coil yellow connector (1).
  4. Install the CPA to the steering wheel module coil connector (1) located at the base of the steering column.
  5. Install the left I/P insulator panel. Refer to Knee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  6. Install the Air Bag Fuse.
  7. Install the cover for the underhood fuse center.
  8. Use caution while reaching in and turning the ignition switch to the ON position.

    The AIR BAG indicator will flash, then turn OFF.

  9. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle, if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information.
