Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the generator (2).
  2. Install the generator bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the positive battery cable to the generator, perform the following:
    1. Install the positive cable.
    2. Install the positive cable nut (2).

      Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

    3. Slide the boot (3) up to cover the terminal stud.
  4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement for the 6.6L (LLY) engine.
  5. Connect the generator electrical connector.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
  7. Install the radiator fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Upper .
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 6.6L (LLY) engine.
