Removal Procedure
- Open the door.
- Remove the door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement
in Interior Trim.

- Remove the rocker panel door sill retainers using the J 36796
.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the rear wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement - Rear
in Body Rear End.

- Remove the rocker panel fasteners.
- Using the J 36796
, release the lower rocker retainers from the body.
- Use a heat gun to remove the stone guard. Hold the heat gun approximately 152 mm (6 in) from the surface. Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.

- Remove the rear rocker panel from the vehicle.
