Installation Procedure

  1. Position the heat shield to the underbody and the dash panel.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the heat shield nuts and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the left frame reinforcement (3).
  6. Install the left frame bolts (4). Tighten the bolts to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) plus an additional 90 degrees using the J-45059:  meter.
  7. Raise the muffler pipe into position and install the first two muffler insulators onto the hangers.
  8. If equipped with a 3.5L or 3.6L engine, install the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4)  or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LY7)  and Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4)  or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LY7) .
  9. If equipped with a 2.4L engine, install the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LAT or LE5)  or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LE5 or LE9 With MH8) .
