Removal Procedure

NOTE: Do not attempt to repair the engine fuel feed pipe or the engine fuel return pipe. Replace a damaged engine fuel feed pipe or the engine fuel return pipe.
  1. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .

  4. Remove the 2 nuts securing the fuel hose/pipe to the engine and transaxle.
  5. Remove the fuel hose/pipe retainers from the threaded studs on the engine and transaxle.
  6. Clean all engine fuel pipe connections and areas surrounding the engine fuel pipe connections before disconnecting the engine fuel pipe connections to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.

  8. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel hose/pipe (2) from the chassis fuel hose/pipe (3). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  9. Cap the fuel hose/pipes to prevent contamination and fuel leakage.

  11. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel hose/pipe (1) from the fuel rail (4). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) 
  12. Cap the fuel hose/pipes to prevent contamination and fuel leakage.
  13. Remove the fuel hose/pipe from the fuel pipe retainer (2).
