Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ignitions switch keyhole lamp and the bulb.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the headlamp, immobilizer demodulator, with the screw.

    Tighten:  Tighten the ignition switch keyhole lamp screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in)  .

  3. Raise the steering column.
  4. Connect the steering column electrical connector.
  5. Install the nuts and the bolts securing the steering column.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the steering column nuts to 22 N.m (16 lb in)  .
    • Tighten the steering column bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb in)  .

  6. Install the steering column upper, lower cover.

  7. Install the instrument cluster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  8. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
