Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal assembly.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the upper (1) and the lower (2) mounting nuts to the brake pedal assembly.

    Tighten:  Tighten the mounting nuts to 27 N.m (20 lb in).

  5. Connect the brake pedal pushrod (1) to the brake pedal (2).
  6. Connect the electrical harness to the brake pedal.
  7. Install the stop lamp switch (1) to the brake pedal. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  8. Connect the accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal.
  9. Install the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Outboard) or Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Inboard) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
