Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Idler Arm To Frame Mounting Bolts

  1. Install the idler arm to the frame.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the idler arm to frame mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 150 N.m (111 lb ft).

  3. Install the idler arm to the relay rod.
  4. Install the new idler arm to relay rod retaining nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 63 N.m (47 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Check the wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment in Wheel Alignment.
