Removal Procedure

Raise the vehicle to a suitable height.
IMPORTANT: The assist step assembly does not have to be removed to replace the assist step support bracket.

Remove the nuts that attach the assist step plate to the assist step support bracket.

The assist step support brackets are to be numbered 1 through 5 in the order when removing.

Remove the nuts and bolts (1) that attach the assist step plate to the assist step bracket.
Remove the bolts (2) that attach the assist step plate to the assist step support bracket to the underbody.
Remove the assist step support bracket from the vehicle.
