Installation Procedure

  1. Correctly position the spark plug washer.
  2. Inspect the spark plug gap. Adjust the gap as needed.

    Specification:  Spark plug gap: 1.524 mm (0.060 in)

  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Hand start the spark plug in the corresponding cylinder.
  5. Tighten the spark plug.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the plug to 15 N.m (11 lb ft) for used heads.
    • Tighten the plug to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) for NEW heads.

  6. Install the spark plug wire. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .
  7. Install the washer solvent container. Refer to Washer Solvent Container Replacement (Envoy, TrailBlazer) or Washer Solvent Container Replacement (Rainier) in Wiper/Washer Systems.
