Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the pressure in the coolant reservoir by turning the coolant reservoir cap slightly counterclockwise.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery.

  5. Remove the variable intake system (VIS) vacuum tank. Refer to Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Vacuum Reservoir Replacement .

  7. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
  8. Remove the ECT sensor from the cylinder head.
