Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
  2. Fig 1: Rotating Drive Belt Tensioner

  3. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counter clockwise.
  4. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (2.2L (L61))  or Generator Replacement (3.4L) .

  6. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolt.
  7. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
  8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
  9. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.

  11. Remove the generator bracket bolts.
  12. Remove the generator bracket.
