Shift Cable: Installation

  1. Feed cable assembly through the passenger floor pan opening. Install grommet flush with the floor opening. See Figure .
  2. Install the right rear floor right side elbow duct. See Figure . Position and install the passenger side carpet. Install cables into the underhood bracket. See Figure .
  3. Connect shift cable to the shift actuator. See Figure . Connect cables to the shifter. See Figure . Press down on the locking tabs. See Figure .
  4. Install the console. See CONSOLE  . On Cavalier and Sunfire models, install the air inlet duct. Connect the negative battery cable.
