Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid

NOTE: When adding fluid or making a complete fluid change, always use the proper power steering fluid. Failure to use the proper fluid will cause hose and seal damage and fluid leaks.
  1. Clean the area surrounding the reservoir cap (1).
  2. Remove the reservoir cap.
  3. Inspect the fluid level in the reservoir (6) at regular intervals.
  4. If the fluid is below the MIN mark (3), add DEXRON®-III Automatic Transmission Fluid, GM P/N 12346143 (Canadian P/N 10952622), or equivalent, to the MAX mark (2).
  5. Install the reservoir cap.
