Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With an assistant, position the hood.
  2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the bolts that secure the hood hinge to the hood.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Adjust the hood. Refer to HOOD ADJUSTMENT  .
  5. Remove the protective covering from the fenders.
  6. Remove the support and close the hood.
