Shift Control Cable: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the cable (4) at the transaxle (2) shift control assembly (3). See Figure .
  2. Remove the cable at the transaxle cable bracket. See Figure .
  3. Remove the center console. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
  4. Remove the cable at the shift control assembly. See Figure .
  5. Remove the cable grommet at the cowl. Remove the cable from the vehicle.
