Fuel Pump: Removal

  1. The fuel pump and the fuel level sensor are integral parts of the fuel sender assembly. In order to service the fuel pump or the fuel level sensor, the fuel sender assembly must be replaced. Remove the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK .
  2. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel sender assembly. See Figure. Disconnect the fuel return line from the fuel sender assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel sender assembly.
  3. Remove the 6 bolts retaining the fuel sender assembly. Remove the fuel sender assembly. Remove fuel sender assembly gasket.
