Engine Mechanical

Inspect for the following conditions:

1. Excessive oil in combustion chamber or leaking valve seals. See appropriate article in ENGINES.
2. Low cylinder compression. See ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - 5.7L CORVETTE article.
3. Combustion chambers for excessive carbon buildup. Clean chambers using Top Engine Cleaner. Follow the instructions on the can.
4. Incorrect basic engine parts.
   • Cylinder Heads
   • Camshaft
   • Pistons, etc.
