Removal & Installation: Generator: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
  2. Remove drive belt.
  3. Remove radiator support sight shield.
  4. Remove upper front mounting bolt from generator.
  5. Raise and support vehicle
  6. Remove engine splash shield.
  7. Remove bolts securing the generator access cover to the front compartment lower panel.
  8. Remove generator access cover.
  9. Disconnect wiring harness connector from the generator.
  10. Reposition protective cover from the generator output BAT terminal for access.
  11. Remove generator output BAT terminal nut and disconnect the positive lead from the generator.
  12. Loosen rear generator bracket from the engine.
  13. Remove top bolt.
  14. Remove front lower mounting bolt.
  15. Remove lower rear mounting bolt.
  16. Remove upper rear mounting bolt.
  17. Secure generator above the A/C compressor clutch pulley, in order to remove the A/C compressor/generator front bracket.
  18. Remove the 3 bolts securing A/C compressor/generator front bracket to engine and A/C compressor.
  19. Remove A/C compressor/generator front bracket.
  20. Rotate generator and remove it from vehicle.
