Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the right engine mount strut. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT   . 
  2. Install the J 45057  to the right engine mount strut bracket (1).

  3. Install the J 45057  to the left side engine lift bracket.

  4. Install the J 45057  to the right rear engine lift bracket.
  5. For Buick vehicles, remove the headlamps. Refer to LIGHTING SYSTEMS  in Lighting Systems.
  6. Disconnect the hood strut assist rods from the fenders.
  7. Carefully open and secure the hood in 90 degree position.

  8. Install the J 28467-B.

  9. Install the J 28467-7A  (1) and the J 28467-34  to the J 28467-500  and the rear hole on the right side of the J 45057  (2).

  10. Install the J 28467-7A  (1) and the J 28467-34  to the J 28467-500  and the left side of the J 45057  (2).
  11. Gently tighten the J 28467-34  lift hook wing nuts.
  12. Raise the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING in General Information.
  13. Remove the lower air baffle. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE ASSEMBLIES AND DEFLECTORS  in Engine Cooling.
  14. Remove the engine mount left bolt.

  15. Install the J 45057-2  to the radiator core support.
  16. Use the engine mount bolt to install the J 45057-2  to the engine.

  17. Ensure that the J 45057-2  is assembled properly and hand tighten the fasteners.
