Engine Prelubing

J 45299 Engine Preluber
Important: A constant/continuous flow of clean engine oil is required in order to properly prime the engine. Be sure to use an approved engine oil as specified in the owners manual.
- Remove the engine oil filter, fill with clean engine oil.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the oil filter.
Tighten
Tighten the oil filter to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- Locate the oil pressure sensor on left side of engine and remove.
- Install the 1/4 inch adapter P/N 509373.
- Install the flexible hose to the adapter and open the valve.
- Pump the handle on J 45299 to flow a minimum of 1-2 quarts of engine oil. Observe the flow of engine oil through the flexible hose and into the engine assembly.
- Close the valve and remove the flexible hose and adapter from the engine.
- Install the oil pressure sensor.
Tighten
Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
- Top off the engine oil to the proper level.
