Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PRO .
- Remove the right closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right .
- Remove the left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left .
- Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
- Remove the instrument panel (IP) accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - IP Accessory .
- Remove the IP compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - IP .
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING THE SIR SYSTEM .
- Remove the inflatable restraint IP module. Refer to INFLATABLE RESTRAINT INSTRUMENT PANEL MODULE .
- Remove the underhood electrical center. Refer to UNDERHOOD ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK .
- Remove the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Description and Operation .
- Remove the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Release Lever Replacement .
- Remove the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor .
- Remove the front floor console bracket. Refer to Bracket Replacement - Console Floor .
- Remove the audio system. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the heater A/C controls. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the switch bank. Refer to IP Multifunction Switch Assembly Replacement .
- Remove the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - WINDSHIELD PILL .
- Remove the IP upper trim. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - IP Upper .
- Remove the headlamp switch. Refer to HEADLAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the data link connector. Refer to DATA LINK CONNECTOR REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the bolts/screws (1) that secure the instrument panel (3) to the body.
- Lift up from the bottom of the IP in order to release the top retainers.
- Remove the IP wiring harness. Refer to IP Harness Replacement .
- Remove the instrument panel (3).
