Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PRO .
  2. Remove the right closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right .
  3. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left .
  4. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  5. Remove the instrument panel (IP) accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - IP Accessory .
  6. Remove the IP compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - IP .
  7. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING THE SIR SYSTEM .
  8. Remove the inflatable restraint IP module. Refer to INFLATABLE RESTRAINT INSTRUMENT PANEL MODULE .
  9. Remove the underhood electrical center. Refer to UNDERHOOD ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK .
  10. Remove the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Description and Operation .
  11. Remove the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT .
  12. Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Release Lever Replacement .
  13. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor .
  14. Remove the front floor console bracket. Refer to Bracket Replacement - Console Floor .
  15. Remove the audio system. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT .
  16. Remove the heater A/C controls. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT .
  17. Remove the switch bank. Refer to IP Multifunction Switch Assembly Replacement .
  18. Remove the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - WINDSHIELD PILL .
  19. Remove the IP upper trim. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - IP Upper .
  20. Remove the headlamp switch. Refer to HEADLAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT .
  21. Remove the data link connector. Refer to DATA LINK CONNECTOR REPLACEMENT .
  22. Remove the bolts/screws (1) that secure the instrument panel (3) to the body.
  23. Lift up from the bottom of the IP in order to release the top retainers.
  24. Remove the IP wiring harness. Refer to IP Harness Replacement .
  25. Remove the instrument panel (3).
